Success! We got to crack a tricky problem for a client, who had tried many different DN600 check valve options for a soft start pump station in a remote location. The previous issues involved the check valves causing a slam affect when the pumps were turned off and causing issues to the system and eventually causing failure of the check valves.

We recommended Özkan Slanted Seat Check Valves with hydraulic end stage dampers which have better closing characteristics due to the smaller swing angle of the disc. Additionally, we coupled the hydraulic end stage dampers in order to prevent the water hammer in these pumping stations. The client is thrilled with the results and has ordered several more recently to replace other check valves within the network.
